About Us
Janet Weston, a former educator and librarian, opened The Reading Tree in 2003 with hopes to encourage literacy in her local community. With her dreams at the forefront, a beautiful imaginary tree with animals reading their favorite books was created, a fort was built at its feet, and The Reading Tree truly became a colorful place “where reading adventures begin.” From the very best books to educational games, cuddly plush and creative play items, readers young and old continue to fall in love with this local, community-based bookstore.
Our passion at The Reading Tree is finding and selecting the very best books that are on the market today. The Reading Tree carries a wonderful selection of children’s titles ranging from birth to young adult, as well as adult best-sellers and Spanish books.
The Reading Tree offers unique services such as free gift wrapping, frequent buyer programs, educator and home schooling discounts, and special orders for that book you can’t live without.
The Reading Tree is also host to many events including author visits, craft days, and special story times, in-store book fairs and book groups.
