The Reading Tree is so excited to announce our 2009 Summer Reading Program “Read and Grow”. Your kids will want to sign up, beginning May 15, as a part of National Children’s Book Week Celebration in the store. During the summer your kids will have the opportunity to be in age specific book groups, enjoy story and craft times and READ!
So Far The Reading Tree and our wonderful readers have collected $89.00 for the Pennies for Peace Campaign. Keep bringing in those pennies till Mother’s Day.

The Reading Tree is proud to announce its partership with Pennies for Peace Campaign inconjuction with a community wide read of Three of Cups Tea by Greg Mortenson.
Three Cups of Tea is now available in the original adult version, a young reader. You ask What is Pennies for Peace(p4P)? P4P is a project started by Greg Mortenson to build schools in Afganistan and Pakistan. This foundation has built over 56 schools to date. It’s belief is that literacy is the key to world peace. 1 Penny can make a difference as it buys a pencil, 10 pennies buys a notebook… You can go to www.penniesforpeace.org to learn more about what you can do.
The Reading Tree will be collecting pennies to make a difference from Valentine’s Day (a gift of love to other children) to Mother’s Day (a day to cherish the gifts and knowledge our Mothers have given to us).
